**Ok, we got a lengthy one here. In this guide we’re going to cover a lot of information and that is because I want you to have the best success with your vegan transition! Or maybe you share this with a friend, whomever this reaches, let's set this transition up for success! Most of the information is in bullet point format to keep it simple, to the point and easy to read. These lists can be used as a check list if say, saved in the notes app or printed off as a packet. There are many ways to use this guide, in the end, my greatest hope is that this helps you or a loved one!

My Journey to Veganism
Thinking about going vegan? I know exactly how you feel - it's definitely easier said than done, especially at the beginning. Like many others, I spent years wanting to eliminate animal products from my life but never quite found the courage to take that final step. Here's my story of how I finally made the transition, and why it's so much easier than you might think.
The First Steps
My journey began during a major life change when I moved across the country, back in with my mom. I needed a transformation and I knew my relationship with food was a good place to start. That’s how it usually goes doesn’t it? - hitting rock bottom, with nothing to lose, inspires the courage to change.
I started by incorporating more fruits and vegetables, cooking most of my meals at home, while cutting back on processed foods and restaurant food. The positive changes I felt in my body were immediate and profound, giving me the confidence to take the next step.
That next step, somewhat ironically, was becoming pescatarian. Looking back now, I can't quite explain why I thought sea life deserved less consideration than other animals, but that's where my journey began. It didn't take long for me to realize that all life matters, and soon enough, seafood was off my plate too.
I'll be honest - my early meat-free diet was far from perfect. It was a lot of rice, vegetables and questionably cooked tofu or beans. But hey, I was making progress and moving toward what I knew was right for me.
Eventually, I met my now-partner, who was also vegetarian and interested in going vegan! You might wonder what two vegetarians contemplating veganism do when they get together? In our case, we headed to Chipotle and ordered our usual meals - minus the cheese and sour cream. It seems so simple now, but that single meal marked the beginning of our vegan journey. That one animal-product-free meal led to another and another and another.
Fast forward ten years, and my partner has become an incredible plant-based chef. Without him, I might still be eating those basic rice bowls with partially cooked tofu! While having a support system makes any life change easier, I'm proof that you can start this journey solo - because that's exactly what I did and so can you.
The Moment Everything Changed

The defining moment in my journey came while watching YouTube videos about veganism. I came across a vegan presentation and the speaker showed side-by-side images of puppies and piglets, challenging the audience to explain why we treat them differently…and what truly opened my eyes was footage of a mother cow chasing after her, literally just fell out of her, newborn calf as it was being dragged away by a human…This was pre-kids but it still struck me to the core that our species could be so cruel. Now as a mama who has nursed two babies, thinking about that video still makes me sick to my stomach…Learning about the fate of these calves - the females destined to follow their mothers' fate, the males confined to tiny spaces for veal production - solidified my commitment to veganism.
The Vegan World Today
That was all ten years ago, and the world has changed dramatically since then. Today, vegan options are everywhere - even in fast food restaurants like Burger King! We have plant-based alternatives for everything: meat, dairy, not just cheese but artisan cheeses as well, sour cream, cream cheese - you name it. Going vegan in today's world can be shockingly easy.
